Field Applications Engineer
FLUIX is building the AI operating system that plans, designs, and optimizes AI infrastructure. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in providing AI-driven solutions for data centers and power providers, leveraging cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. Our mission is to help America win the AI arms race, by doubling compute without doubling resources.
We are seeking someone to support our rapid rollout into mission-critical facilities, FLUIX is hiring a Field Applications Engineer with deep experience in HVAC controls, BAS, or industrial automation. You’ll be the technical bridge between our platform and customer sites, owning everything from pre-deployment assessments to secure sites and serving as the primary face of FLUIX during implementation.

What you’ll do
Design & execute implementation plans that translate customer scope into clear timelines, risk registers, and success metrics.
Manage end-to-end deployment processes, hardware staging, software configuration, facility equipment databases, and software performance.
Conduct detailed pre-deployment assessments of HVAC/BAS architectures, IT constraints, and site readiness.
Coordinate with client IT & OT teams to ensure seamless platform integration, including firewall rules, VPNs, and protocol gateways.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned accounts throughout the implementation phase. Working with a client project manager for several customer accounts at a time.
Facilitate regular status meetings and progress reports to client stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned on milestones and risks.
Build strong working relationships with facilities managers, controls engineers, and executive sponsors at each site.
Create customized documentation, user guides, and SOPs tailored to individual customer environments.
Implement software updates in secure customer environments, maintaining strict cyber and compliance standards.
Gather customer requirements & pain points and relay insights to Product and Engineering for continuous improvement.
Your background
Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Experience:
3–5 years in HVAC, Building Automation, or Industrial Controls, with hands-on deployment experience.
Proven track record leading customer-facing implementations, from discovery to production hand-off.
Working knowledge of common building automation communication protocols, solid grasp of IT security best practices.
Strong project-management skills: Gantt charts, RAID logs, vendor coordination, executive briefings.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to translate technical detail for both engineers and C-suite.
Based in the United States with willingness to travel (~25 %) for kick-offs and site visits.
Nice to Have:
HVAC, Data-center, MEP-firm, or systems-integrator background.
Familiarity with secure customer software deployments and workflows.
Scripting ability (Python, bash) for test harnesses or small integrations.
