Software Engineer (SWE) - Building Automation

FLUIX is building the AI operating system that plans, designs, and optimizes AI infrastructure. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in providing AI-driven solutions for data centers and power providers, leveraging cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. Our mission is to help America win the AI arms race, by doubling compute without doubling resources.

FLUIX is seeking a full-stack software engineer with deep familiarity in SCADA systems, building automation, or industrial controls. This role will work closely with our product and engineering teams to build scalable, reliable interfaces between physical systems and software, bridging the edge-to-controls stack in high-performance environments.


You’ll help architect, implement, and deploy software that directly controls and observes real-world infrastructure.

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement scalable software for data ingestion, command execution, and systems orchestration across edge-connected infrastructure.

  • Interface with hardware, PLCs, and industrial control networks to build end-to-end connectivity.

  • Develop internal tools and APIs for facility management, telemetry streaming, and remote ops.

  • Collaborate with field engineering and integration teams to close the loop between software and site-specific constraints.

  • Contribute to deployment planning and testing cycles across both simulated and air-gapped environments.

Your background

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Technical Experience:

    • 3–6 years of experience in full-stack or systems software development

    • Strong programming skills in Python

    • Experience integrating with SCADA systems, PLCs, or building control protocol stack

    • Familiarity with time-series data, real-time event pipelines, and IT/OT networking

    • Ability to write robust, testable code and deploy across heterogeneous infrastructure

    • Based in the U.S., with occasional travel for field deployments

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Experience in data centers, utilities, energy systems, or secure government facilities

    • Exposure to virtualization, containerized workloads, or embedded Linux systems

    • Familiarity with security standards in air-gapped or regulated deployments

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.

    • Strategic thinking to develop comprehensive validation approaches.
