FLUIX Joins Dominion Energy’s Hyperscaled Program to Solve the AI Power Bottleneck

Jul 21, 2025

The future of AI doesn’t just run on faster chips, it runs on power. And right now, the grid can’t keep up.

Dominion Energy Innovation Center just announced the 2025 cohort of its Hyperscaled program, and FLUIX AI has been selected to help tackle one of the biggest bottlenecks in the AI arms race: energy.

The problem is simple but brutal: 1 in 5 data centers in the U.S. can’t get built because utilities can’t predict or allocate enough power fast enough. AI workloads change by the millisecond, spiking power demand unpredictably, and legacy tools built for static grid management weren’t designed for this kind of volatility.

Why FLUIX Is Different

Most grid-focused AI startups are built for utilities first and non-mission critical data centers where they are forcing flexible loads. However, these solutions won't be able to serve mission critical data centers and still need training data from data center sites to understand load growth to help the grid. This is where FLUIX comes in (more on how we fill the data gap for these other players below). They’re great at long-term energy forecasting, but they treat data centers like black boxes. They don’t optimize the physical systems inside the data center itself.

FLUIX flips that model.

We start inside the facility, running data centers on autopilot—optimizing HVAC, water, and other mission-critical infrastructure in real time. This doesn’t just slash energy waste (up to 40% in some deployments), it generates something far more valuable: the world’s most accurate real-time dataset on how AI workloads actually consume power.

That data is anonymized and streamed into FLUIX’s Physical AI Cloud, giving utilities the insight they’ve been missing: millisecond-by-millisecond, facility-level intelligence on how compute actually hits the grid. Think of it as giving utilities X-ray vision into the AI factories of the future.

FLUIX create the first physical AI data cloud to fill the critical gap that ML companies have for the physical world.

Why This Matters

Joining Dominion’s Hyperscaled program is more than a badge of honor—it’s a testbed for solving one of America’s most urgent infrastructure challenges: how to scale AI without breaking the grid.

If utilities can’t predict load growth, hyperscalers and colocation providers can’t build fast enough. Whoever fixes this problem first unlocks the next wave of AI infrastructure growth.

With utilities like Dominion now pulling FLUIX into pilot programs, we’re proving that the fastest way to solve the grid problem is by starting inside the data center.

The AI revolution won’t be won by the fastest chip alone. It’ll be won by whoever figures out how to get power to the machines that run them.

About us:
FLUIX, based in Silicon Valley, runs data centers on autopilot with AI software that optimizes HVAC, water, and facility systems and then anonymizes that data into a Physical AI Cloud, enabling utilities, engineers, and builders to predict, design, and scale faster.
